Dr Marc Le Mire
BM BS (Flin), PhD (Adel) FRACP
A graduate of Flinders University Dr Marc Le Mire trained in Infectious Diseases medicine and was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of physicians in 1996. After developing an interest in viral hepatitis he pursued post fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
He then joined the Hepatitis Research Laboratory of the University of Adelaide studying persistence of hepatitis B infection. He received the Young Investigator Award from the Gastroenterological Society of Australia in 2001 and was awarded a PhD in 2003.
After a fellowship in hepatology in Oxford, UK, Marc returned to Adelaide and now works in private practice with Southern GI Services at in the city, Kurralta Park, Angaston and Kapunda and is a senior staff specialist, Royal Adelaide Hospital. He is a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide and affiliate of the Hepatitis Research Laboratory.
Marc has clinical interests including viral hepatitis, non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis, endoscopy and colonoscopy and general gastroenterology and hepatology. His professional memberships include the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, The Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases and The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. |
